Our mission at North Harbor is to lead people toward a growing relationship with Jesus and we believe this is best accomplished in community. We invite you to become a part of our community and hope that with us, you would find a place to call home. Joining one of our ministry teams helps to develop a sense of comradery with other North Harbor regulars and create a strong sense of belonging. Our various ministry teams include all the teams we rely on for our Sunday services.
North Harbor would not exist without the many volunteers who help to make our vision a reality. Take a look at our various ministry teams to see which might be a good fit for you. If you are interested in serving with one of the following teams, please let the office know by emailing office@northharbor.org.
WELCOME Team:
Our Welcome team is responsible for welcoming our Sunday morning guests! This ministry involves preparing the coffee/tea and communion, as well as greeting attendees as they arrive, and helping 1st time visitors (giving them Link Cards, answering questions, leading them inside, etc). Welcome team volunteers arrive by 9am to prepare, greet from 9:45-10:00, attend the service, and then connect with the North Harbor community and hang out until 11:30 to clean up. They are scheduled 1-2 times per month, and we aim to have two Welcome Team volunteers per Sunday.
Music Team:
Our music team is comprised of individuals who offer either their musical or vocal talents during the Sunday morning services and other special events. They arrive at 9am on Sunday mornings to practice and run through the music set for the service. They are usually scheduled 1-2 times per month.
Tech Team:
Our tech team is responsible for running our audio and video technologies during our Sunday morning services. The primary tasks include running the slides, running the sound system, and recording the sermon. Our tech volunteer typically arrives at 9am to do a run through of the slides as the music team practices, and make any adjustments to the sound system. They are usually scheduled 1-2 times per month, and we usually schedule one tech volunteer each Sunday.
FACILITIES TEAM:
Our facilities team is responsible for cleaning the chapel during the week between Sundays! This task usually takes about 2 hours, and can be completed at the convenience of the volunteer. The tasks include: emptying all trash cans, vacuuming, mopping, windexing, and cleaning the bathrooms. We have deeper cleans during our Clean Up Days, which happen three times a year. Facilities team volunteers are usually scheduled 1x per month.
Kids' Cove:
Our Kids' Cove volunteers serve once or twice a month involving tasks specific to their role which can range from leading a small group of kids through activities and discussion, to helping with administration for kids’ ministry events and crafts, to telling the Big God Story from the Bible in a compelling way. All Kids’ Cove volunteers must complete an application and background check and attend an orientation meeting in order to serve with children. Each Sunday, we have a Lead Teacher (who tells the story), and an Assistant, who supports and works alongside the Lead Teacher with the children.
Floodgate:
Our Floodgate team serves as mentors, small group leaders and administrative coordinators for middle and high school students at North Harbor. Much of the time spent with this team is spent outside of the regular Sunday morning service. All Floodgate volunteers must complete an application and background check and attend an orientation meeting in order to serve with students.
